I'm still HERE!

I haven't posted in a while because my macular degeneration has gone downhill rapidle. It's very difficult for me to read and also to type.

In the past few years I've survived skin cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, afib, sleep apnea, and probably one or two other maladies that I can't remember.

BUT I'M STILL HERE!

iI feel good, mostly.
I satill workk out (stationary bike and weights) twicw a day.
As red Skelton once quipped "Any morning I wake up and don'
t smell flowers or see candles is gonna be a good day."

All the best to you guys.
I'll still drop in from time to time.

It can happen so fast; last year I was driving with no glasses, and now luckily one eye is still good enough with glasses to drive. I remind myself that I was able to see for 80 years (come November) so I can't complain. Best of luck to you!

for further loss of vision. Lots of eye drops on my nightstand. I'm very glad that I was a voracious reader all my life.

For depth perception help for me, my husband put a thin strip of red tape along the edge of our staircase steps; it really helps.

Good to hear from you. Keep on keeping the blue side up and the boost pumps on. My RPMs dropped down pretty low recently, with high oil pressure .. which baffled the docs. But they gave me a hot section and cleared me for another fire season in the Pacific Northwest.

You've been missed.

A cousin had macular degeneration. It was sad to see how much she had to give up because of it, and as you are doing now. She found books on tape worked well once she could no longer read.

You've survived a lot, and you'll learn to deal with this latest. Take care of yourself, and let Miz T spoil you a bit.

GREATLY appreciate the update, and the mere fact that you posted, PERIOD!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling more good than bad, and that you work out. That'll keep all the corpuscles moving, as my mom used to say. I remember Jonathan Winters talking about not being ready for "the dirt nap". That and your Red Skelton quote ("any morning I wake up and don't smell flowers or see candles is gonna be a good day" are keepers for sure!

Just still being here is something worth celebrating, all by itself.

My problem is keratoconus, the cornea thinning and distorting. I have one transplant that allows me to read the computer screen if my nose is bumping up against it. The frustrating part is that hard contacts would give me reasonable vision but an autoimmune disease prevents me from tolerating those.

So good luck to you from a fellow groper. I know my mother's ARMD went really fast. I don't know what's worse, slowly sinking into a dense fog like I am, or getting it over with more quickly.
