I just saw a post by AARP on Face Book that they are probably regretting - 5 reasons to consider retiring in Tennessee

I had to choose the 'all comments' option to see ANY response because the 'most relevant' option filtered everything out. The unfiltered comments that showed up were pretty much all negative.

Now, let me say that I've been to Tennessee and it is a beautiful state. Unfortunately, the citizens have elected a lot of horrible people to the legislature.

One would have to be certifiable. 😳

Tennessee is no longer affordable.
There are problems 😞

We drive an hour for a doctor. Hospitals are 1 hour in 1 direction, 1.25 hours in the other. Check into your wanted area before committing.

Tennessee ranks: Healthcare 42, Crime 42, Education 31.
AND - Tennessee allows open or concealed carry without a permit.
I'm in the never Tennessee camp.

about understanding the relationship between low taxes and services offered. A lot of areas in the south fit that description.

Biden got nearly 65% in Davidson and Shelby counties.

Obviously, statewide races are held by Republicans, but like most states, TN is not a monolithic bloc.

Lived in Tennessee for over 20 years. Wouldn't go back if you put a gun to my head. Too hot, too conservative and too religious. I felt like a stranger in a strange land, to coin a phrase.

Yes, the surroundings are beautiful but the politics have made things ugly and extreme.

Did I mention I was sued after selling my house in TN? Well, I was to the tune of $200,000. Fortunately, the case was dismissed last week.

Needless to say, I have no pangs of regret having moved back north, close to family and friends (and my beautiful baby grand daughter). It was a haul, physically and financially draining.

But I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
