Especially when it comes to names. It's definitely an information retrieval problem, rather than literally having forgotten. Very often, the name I'm trying to recall will pop into my head after a brief delay.

It's really annoying not to be able to immediately access information that I know is stored in my brain somewhere.

If I can't recall the next word, I used to be able to fake it, find another word to fit, or just substitute "what's it" or "thingamajig."

Now I just stop and look confused.

I was talking and used a religious analogy that is associated with Easter. However, I prefaced my comment with Christmas. Only days later did it occur to me that I had exchanged Jesus's death with his birth. No one corrected me and, since they were in their 30s, they must have picked up on it.

Oh, and all the other stories I could tell. If only I remembered them.
