They do a lot of sports. Also piano lessons, gymnastics and like that.

They do look happy! And they are fit besides.

I'd say they have the right mix, though it's hard to tell from 50 miles away and not getting to see them very much.

Husband brings in 6 figure income.
We're happy he can do that.
Wife is devoted to kids.
So is husband.

We just think the kids have not much time to just be kids.

tend to over structure their kids' time. They rarely have empty hours just to be on their own, and as a consequence they have a very low boredom threshold.

Some structure is good. Every minute of the day structured is not. There is a happy midpoint, which will vary with the child and parents.

When we visit, our grandkids seem to be straight out 24/7.
Of course there's time for homework, but most of the rest of the time seems to be taken up with soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics, drum lessons, ballet, guitar lessons, etc.

Soccer practice at 8 p.m.?
On a school night?
Really?

I say nothing.
I'm at least THAT smart.

Oh, boy.

I don't have grandchildren. Neither of my two grown sons seems at all inclined to reproduce, but if they do, I hope I can keep quiet about such things.
