I Have a landline and love the quality versus a cell, but the it just keeps costing more and more and given that I am not a phone person to begin with paying $50+ a month for a phone seems a bit silly. Can I get a cell and a plan for say $35 a month? I ask this question because the task of researching seems so daunting. If one of you is happy with what you have can you tell me what you did? I don't need a smart phone so...............

(10,044 posts)I don't know any of the details but I was told that people on SS could get a cell phone and limited monthlyh calls free.
Maybe someone here knows something about it, if not, call SS or search their website. If I find out more, I'll post it in a few days...

I know it has 8 numbers instead of 7, but it works anyway. I don't know the details, but know of someone who's gotten a phone...
