(71,909 posts)back in the day, before all the trolls, du'ers used to get together irl, and there were a few marriages. helped that back then most ppl had their location in their profile.
i've met a few guys through fb. and i ran into cliffordu on fb, and we had a distance thing. then he got sick.
also found the dude that prompted this post on a friend's fb feed. couple other virtual things.
not willing to drag through the dreck of online dating, and still not comfortable hanging in bars.
also posted this on fb. a good friend- get a hobby.

(14,298 posts)I moved to a great scenic location and why not? Thought that people would visit all the time (It's even near Yosemite, and I get in free with senior and veteran passes). Nope. Not into online dating, bars (heck, there's only one in town), advertising. I'll figure something out. People can get an idea from the photos I post.
Not giving up. Like piano and I *keep* those old scores I picked up for piano plus voice, violin, cello ....
I needed to find out your preferences before posting this one.
MAYBE you are finding the wrong kind of man.
Like this one.
I'll probably linger a while. Hopefully in spring the Glacier Point Road opens up and I get to take some photos at Taft Point. Sentinel Dome is next door to it and I got some great photos there.

music is a whole other thing. i started taking voice lessons during the plague and i'm not bad. lotsa places to sing around here. but then there's the plague.
that and the fact that late nights kill me.
mostly irish songs, but lots more. jazz, r&b, lotta country, pretty much every pop hit of the 60's-80's.
