It's very memorable to be lectured by white folks about how John Lewis was a sellout who lost all of his credibility and was no longer relevant because he wasn't sufficiently grateful to Bernie Sanders for getting arrested once 50 years ago.

As a Bernie supporter, was I disappointed when Mr. Lewis endorsed Hillary? Hell yeah! But only because nothing could have been greater than to have a man of John Lewis's stature, integrity, and moral credibility on the Bernie team. The man is fearless and possesses a moral compass that is beyond reproach, and the suggestion that he endorsed Sec. Clinton for any other reason than that he sincerely believes her to be the best person for the job is laughable.

For the first time in forever, I have hope that we are going to see at least some progress on the gun issue--even with the Republicans in charge of the House and the Senate. As long as John Lewis is leading the charge, we are going to see movement. No doubt whatsoever.
