It's exhausting to witness how we are all told to come together for Steve Scalise

Last edited Fri Jun 16, 2017, 12:52 PM - Edit history (1)

to ignore that he spoke at a rally to white supremacists, that he belongs to a party that routinely stops ALL sensible gun regulations from passing, that he voted for a bill to deprive 24 million people of healthcare.

Meanwhile a black kid gets shot and immediately every little real or imagine shitty thing about that kid is dragged out in public.

It's exhausting to be a person of color (and I am sure that much more exhausting to be a black person) and watch whiteness in action.

No matter what this guys politics were being shot like that wasn't right. What happened was the direct result of a gun culture that proffers the gun as an always equalizer. A culture that the right-wing is always pushing on us and advocating for. When you say anybody can have a gun irregardless of mental health and emotional condition then this is what you're gonna get.

The problem is as you said, as long as it's somebody else being shot it's alright.

attitude when Gabby Giffords was shot, Ted?

The simple fact is they dont care when others are shot, but if it is one of their own, then sure, lets talk.

The level of racism in this country, right now, is so extreme, so bad, it is like a bow stretched to it's limit, we CANT take anymore.

And the rub there is Putin is WAITING for us to go to violence, this is when he will literally roll in with his military and oligarchs and take over, FOR REAL.

Let us see what Mr. Scalise has to say about guns when he is well again.

Maybe he will be like Jim Brady and his wife who fought tirelessly for gun control. Or maybe not.

• I'm sorry a congressman was shot.
• I'm sorry Trayvon Martin was shot.
• I'm sorry those Amish school children were shot.
• I'm sorry Gabby Gifford was shot.
• I'm sorry the Aurora theater victims were shot.
• I'm sorry the kids at Sandy Hook were shot.
• I'm sorry the 49 people in Orlando were shot.
• I'm sorry congress voted to give mentally ill people guns.
• I'm sorry President Trump suggested that people use their 2nd Amendment rights to "do something" about Hillary.
• I'm sorry the NRA means more to some people than anyone's child.
• I'm sorry congress didn't extend the assault weapons ban.
• I'm sorry you can get a gun and be on the no fly list.
• I'm sorry you can take a gun into a bar.
• I'm sorry that people would rather send their thoughts and prayers instead of actually doing something to end this!
• I'm sorry that we are all so desensitized to violence in our country that everyone's first question is who did the perpetrator vote for.
• And I'm sorry there is such a stigma regarding mental health. Until we actually make changes we are going to continue to be sorry.

and re: black kid, so true and is pointed out here as to the 'character' of brown kid/adult vs poor wittle, afraid policeperson who shot and/or killed the AA child or adult. Generations of this bullshit carries a heavy burden.....Scalise???? don't care about him.....he does not care about anything but white supremacist/male domination of all not Caucasian....if he died of his wounds tomorrow...I would not care.....he would let 24 million people possibly die because he took away their health care....I second everything posted.....in this....except having pity for this RW POS.

He popped off with a lot of racist bullshit. Him getting shot doesn't take away from the fact that he's an inbred maggot. Why is that so difficult for folks to understand?
