Public Enemy "Can't Trust it"
I know I been gone from here for a minute but I heard this today and realized it's been a eons since I last visited or even thought about this place. With all of the crap from neo-Nazis, white supremacists and others that have become emboldened lately (gee, I wonder why??) I realize that EVERYTHING this forum ever said about race relations was right and yet, so many of us had to argue and scream over our "friends" to be heard.
Key lyrics for me:
"Beware of the hand when it's coming from the left
I ain't tripping, just watch your step"

(29,328 posts)Happy to see you, but I certainly understand why you've been away. (I'm not here much anymore either.)

(24,544 posts)If this place has lost even your patience and brilliance, I'm surprised anyone at all is still here. It is wonderful to "see" you!

(8,709 posts)From Birmingham Jail, "Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."
I bet if we look even further back the same thing was said repeatedly through American history. And surprising to see posts on DU about the many, many instances of the so-called problem by the shocked. But just can't Truss It.
So good to see you Number23!

(13,451 posts)AA forum is a shell of its former self and your post nails why:
"realize that EVERYTHING this forum ever said about race relations was right and yet, so many of us had to argue and scream over our "friends" to be heard."
Great PE track BTW.
