(37,748 posts)AfAm and HoF forums most closely resemble the collective sentiment of DU in its first few years. Racism was called racism, and sexism was called sexism. And bigots were given the boot.
Today it seems, more often than not, that simply raising the conversation of race in GD is perceived as an implicit form of racism in and of itself by far too many half-wits whose idiot-savant abilities allow them to troll far more successfully than I'd like to believe is possible.
On the other hand, between the two groups, I can honestly say I've learned a great deal, and have had more than a few blinders and biases of my own removed.

(18,124 posts)abilities. We all really should get along. The reason we are not is transparent and evil.
The younger people who are activists have a battle on their hands. The Parkland Students and all the other school shooting victims vs the NRA. How ludicrous and insane. GD has always been a problematic forum, as long as I have visited DU that is, it has been. It is good to see both sides go at it. It's a race-numbers thing. Fear is rampant.
Great on the learning part. Never stop learning. My hope is in the stars.
