Hillsborough County Administrator Mike Merrill acknowledged in a press conference on Monday that "we did in fact fail to provide good care to this woman".

"My guys did a lot of things wrong here and we take responsibility," he said, acknowledging that the medics had failed to even check the woman's vital signs.

He added that medics also falsified a report to claim they were unable to locate the patient.

"If it's a culture of racism," he added, "that's something that needs to be fixed or for the sake of good care for our community."

the "If it's a culture of racism". What else could it be? See it's this willful playing at being ignorant of what goes on that enrages me. They think all are like them.

I missed the part where they lied.

Sometimes I just can't bear to read these stories let alone be the one who's forced to live them.

So the proper authorities have taken responsibility for the paramedics negligence and presumably will be paying out the ass, but so what? There's not enough money to make up for this.

While the paramedics are enjoying their unexpected paid summer vaca...er, administrative leave, steps should be in motion to strip them of their licenses. Their plainly lack the judgement and moral character for this job.
