Anybody read Caste by Isabel Wilkerson?

I’m 1/3 through it and I have no words to describe the breadth of coverage on the issues of dominance and discrimination.

Everybody knows slavery was brutal, and I’m familiar with the obvious financial gains, but the author’s account of enslaved women's forced breeding (and rape by masters) to increase the labor capacity and thus wealth of owners was eye opening. Even the nomenclature of the environs referring to literal labor camps as genteel “plantations” and the accompanying imagery is thought provoking. I like, too, that the author juxtaposes the American plight on the similar circumstances of other groups like the people of India, Jews and Native Americans. There’s so much to unpack and I’m nowhere near through.

Of course, I just looked at reviews on Amazon and the CRT “activists” call this a bunch of hogwash. They can go to hell. This should be required reading.
