(8,203 posts)territory..we are in a very strong Hohokam territory..many other areas overlap in beautiful color..this totally makes sense when I look around at the familiar names of the indigenous people..
If you get a chance to visit Tombstone..and the territorial Museum there are several pictures of Geronimo..a leader, a very rich history of the valiant efforts men just trying to protect their people and their land..
On second thought, how stupid of me.. the whole of the United States is indigenous territory..of many American Indian tribes..my former residence in Massachusetts..Wampanog and Mohawk tribes..

(22,767 posts)Being at the end of the Trail of Tears, everyone in my state should know they live on indigenous land, but being as red and fucking stupid a state as it is, I doubt they know, or acknowledge, which tribal lands they actually inhabit.
I live on Muscogee lands. Have known that for years, and have only lived here about 1/3 of my life.
