whenever i talk to someone new, the ones who say they are part native, it is always cherokee. i have never heard any other tribe named. guess the cherokee were/are quite popular. i am ojibwe, by the way.

(1,990 posts)I had originally thought that my ancestry was part Cherokee, until I started doing the research. I located a guy who is very probably my great-grandfather on the Choctaw section of the Dawes Roll.
