European Near Cherokee North Carolina

I am a white man who lives near Cherokee and who enjoys the hospitality of my Native American neighbors.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee are doing pretty well here with a nice inflow of money due to the casino. They have built schools and improved the infrastructure.

Way back up in the mountains are some who still live the old ways and of course I may never meet them, but I sure do wish them well.

The Cherokee are some of the kindest and most soft spoken people I have ever known.

Would love to converse with folks who know them better than I... TY.

and they're some of the kids I glommed onto when I was spending miserable years down there. I remember them with a great deal of fondness.

The Western Cherokee are much the same, some of the best people you'd ever want to meet if they haven't gone down the alcohol road. Shoot, even if they have.

I have very few relatives left is the sad part.

My old grandfather was born in Cherokee, NC. I sure wish I knew more about him but very little is known about him except for his date of death it seems. He was in the confederacy, this much I know.

They did a nice job of removing/exterminating much of my tribe. The ones living up there in the mountains are smart IMO.
