Last of the Red Hot Poppas by Jason Berry

The Governor of Louisiana is found dead one morning with lipstick smeared on his thigh. This novel includes a brothel in the swamps, Angola Prison, a secluded mortuary, a funeral at the capital and the damage caused by oil brokers, ACLU lawyers and political hit men. It’s listed as fiction but it sounds like a run of the mill day in LA.

I haven’t read the book yet, but I heard an interview with the author on the NPR station in New Orleans. I have a hard bias for damn near anything about the bayou state.
