Confession of a devoted reader.

There is a four-book online story called North to Alaska by Fleataxi that speaks to me, personally. I have re-read it many, many times, but there are serious problems with the writing and the heavy- handed right-wing bombardment to a readers senses.
So I downloaded it and changed it. I feel guilty. criminal. But I like it better.
I would write to the author to confess and ask forgiveness, but he died. I will never post or share my version, but I do feel that I have done the unthinkable. Robbed the crypt, so to speak. Thus my dirty little secret. Oh, and it was fun.

unless you are a banker or Wall Street con man. You are using it for your personal use, and you are not profiting from it, so what is there to feel guilty about. You sound like you were raised in my family!!!!
