Cheated and read the wiki synopsis beforehand. ( No way I could have figure out what was going on otherwise.)

Good production. Good acting, competent directing, etc.

Came away thinking that a lot of women are NOT going to like this film.

OTOH.... Affleck directed it but the story ( book and script) is written by a woman.

Maybe I'm on DU too much.

Maybe tomorrow.

I did not like the ending of the book. Basically, I didn't really believe the characters would behave that way, so I'm happy to learn that Flynn wrote an entire different ending. Have no idea what it is, so I'd best see the movie real soon before I stumble across a plot spoiler.

but still thought the writing was wonderful. You'll have to let me know if you see the movie and what you think of it.

It is wonderful!. Excellent adaptation of a book ever. The casting is impeccable.

The actual ending isn't very different from the one in the book, it simply plays out differently, and in a way that does work better.

I recommend both the book and the movie to everyone.

I trust your judgment and though I don't go to too many movies, I'll try to catch this one because I really liked the book.

The longer I think about it, the more impressed I am with the movie. The book was excellent, don't get me wrong. I have liked every single book Gillian Flynn has written so far. I tell people that she takes very unlikeable people, and doesn't make you like them, but makes you willing to follow their story.

I also hope that everyone who sees this thread will either read the book or see the movie. I'd recommend both.
