Did anyone post in a lost thread (when DU went flooky a few days ago)? the thread title was "Did you ever read a book that broke your heart ..."
Down in that thread someone mentioned a book title and I replied with "Thanks! I've not read it yet". I also said that I was going to get it to take on winter vacation with me.
The dang thread is lost now & I can't remember the title of the book.
Help anyone?

(38,128 posts)In fact there are several links in "My Posts" that are not going where they should.
I don't know how you find it.

(17,055 posts)Maybe the poster who mentioned the book name will read my plea for help.
It's driving me crazy and I really wanted to get the dang book.

(17,055 posts)read down thread. Do you recall seeing that title in the thread? I think that's it.
scarletwoman
(31,893 posts)but it seems like there were many different books mentioned, and I don't remember any of them. I'm so sorry, I wish I could help.
Still, don't give up. You know, the name of that book is probably going to just pop into your head at some unexpected moment. If it meant enough to you to want to read it, then the title IS rattling around in the dark recesses of your memory somewhere and it's just taking awhile to surface. Have faith!
Little Star
(17,055 posts)is that the book title started with a T and it was only a one word title. Of course my memory ain't what it use to be. I could be completely wrong about that.
Right away I went on Amazon to see if they carried it and they did. Naturally, I wasn't logged in so it's not in my history.
This op is my last ditch try. I'm not sure MY memory will help me out.

(31,893 posts)Like, was it another book about American Indians? Or was about some other indigenous people somewhere else? Or something else altogether?
When you looked it up on Amazon, was there a picture of the cover displayed?
I'm just asking these questions to help jog your memory - your brain DOES have this information stored, I promise you! You just haven't got a conscious pathway into it yet.
Little Star
(17,055 posts)It was probably about American Indians. Thanks scarletwoman for trying to help me.

(31,893 posts)Since I did read that thread, the title of that book should be rattling around somewhere in my memory, too!

(17,055 posts)It might have been Tecumseh

I had to go over to Amazon to see in English

I think that's it! It really looks to be interesting. I'm going to order it.
Thank you so much.

(17,055 posts)Thanks.
I told you guys that my memory sucked.
The book I first wanted was actually Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown. But I'm going to get both Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee & Tecumseh: A Life by John Sugden.
I'm happy now and I'll have two good books to bring with me on vacation.
Thanks again to all who took the time to help me.
