I’ve been listening to IN A DRY SEASON by Peter Robinson. An Inspector Banks mystery.

I think this is going to be one of my favorite Inspector Banks mysteries.

One thing that really interests me is the information about the privations the English endured during the war. Of course, there was rationing. At some point, icing couldn’t be used on cakes (sugar was rationed). Later, manufacture of furniture was severely restricted.

Besides being severely bombed, the Brits had it bad.

Anyone know of any books that go into more detail about that subject, feel free to post.
