The Soul of America, by Jon Meacham

I enjoy reading history, and no one seems to have a better collection of anecdotes than Meacham. During these dark Trump times, it's somewhat comforting to read about this nation's past trials and tribulations, as in The Civil War, the rise of the KKK, the Great Depression, and red-baiting Senator Joseph R. McCarthy, and how they were (eventually) overcome. So many echoes and parellels to Trump.

I feel confident that we will overcome and outlast this dark soul of Trump, and I hope we can crush the diseased GOP while we are at it.

This book can give you hope and increase your admiration for the great leaders we have had in America. I wonder who will be the next great person to step up?Hopefully before Trump nukes the world.
