Have you read Educated by Tara Westover? It reminds me a bit of The Glass Castle.

Being Mortal gave me a totally different way of looking at death.

There are many here I've not read that I will add to my list.

It was interesting but had parallels to my own life and I wasn't really comfortable with that.

Reminds you that W needed to be impeached too. How quickly we have forgotten the crimes of his administration.

The author's ordeal was all too reminescent of Kaka's "The Trial" -- held for no reason, no explanation, not allowed to contact his family, requests for a doctor ignored. A private company was in control of his incarceration and did nothing to pursue justice, but only held him as long as the gov't didn't say to do otherwise ... no one was ever held responsible.
