My book is now live on Amazon: Dixiegops: The Untold Story of the Dixiecrat-Republican Coalition

The Conservative union of Democrats and Republicans became known as the Dixiecrat-Republican Coalition, lasted for decades, and had long-lasting repercussions in America. Do you want to understand the Southern Strategy? Check out my new book.

I hope it sells well! History helps us prevent mistakes in the future. Those who don't read are the poorer for it, and a drag on society.

Good luck, political history is so interesting.

Well done...two years in the making, that is wonderful.

UPDATE:

Placed it on my shopping cart...My kids gave me some golf stuff I already had for father's day, so I sent it back, got a gift certificate, so I am buying books instead, yours is #5 on the list, once I get enough books to use the certificate I will click on the purchase button.

I’ve been interested in the GOP’s gradual purge of its Black leadership over the decades.

Hubert Hoover was a Lily-White Republican, which contributed to him winning in the South. I talk about the Lil-White Republicans a little in my book because they were definitely a contributing factor to political realignment.

This is an interesting chart, but I wonder in the Jim Crow South if it was more about racism than party affiliation.

Cuney, an African American, was elected Texas GOP chair in 1886 and fought the Texas and National Lily White Republicans until they finally purged him in 1896. His daughter published his biography.

I'm thrilled to be able to read this. My father was most politically active during the 40's --- I can remember him scornfully referring to the "Dixiecrats"! At the time I was too young to understand what was going on, so hopefully your book will fill in the memory gaps of the era for me.

I hope many people learn about and feature your book. How are you promoting it? Will there be interviews? I can see you now on MSNBC with Lawrence O’Donnell.
