The books I own are in "the library."

I thought libraries are connected so that they can get what you want.

None of the libraries in our county have a copy of the book; I may donate it to the library when I'm finished reading it.

Currently our local library has two copies of Dan Brown's Inferno, but none available for lending. I have my own copy at home. There is usually a waiting list for the most popular books.

8. When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes.

Sadly, this is apparently a misquote.

I have turned my entire attention to Greek. The first thing I shall do, as soon as the money arrives, is to buy some Greek authors; after that, I shall buy clothes.
