Dear friends, I have made a decision I wish I didn't have to make, those of you who know me well are aware that my father and my brother died from Dementia. This past Thanksgiving & Christmas at family gatherings I found myself searching for words or names I know are rolling around somewhere upstairs.
It's my understanding the best medicine for Dementia is exercising the brain, doing crossword puzzles and the like that make you think. Gathering TOONS doesn't make one think, really not much thought involved at all. So I'm going to replace the hours gathering TOONS with puzzles that exercise my brain. Want to ward this off as long as possible.
Today is my last daily carTOONS, if anyone wants to start doing them daily many people on DU would be very appreciative I'm sure. Plus I can show you how to outsmart the websites that don't like to share their images. Still have most of Dr. Seuss sorted by date that I can post in small batches if enough people would enjoy seeing them.
Believe I'll also quit doing the "Doonesbury Now & Then" , you can always go to his website and
see everything he's ever done. Right below the image is a date, click on it and go wherever you want.

(20,955 posts)Any of these have crypto-grams or crypto-quotes that you are aware of? I used to solve them
when nobody else could.

(6,933 posts)But several are word games and language-related puzzles of one sort or another. There are a few geography and movie related ones too, I like that stuff. Most of them are daily games, but a couple are weekly.
I would suggest you just go down the list and check them out, then bookmark the ones you like in a folder like I do. Every day I right-click on that bookmarks folder and "Open All Bookmarks" then just work through the open tabs. You'll probably find a few there that you like, I'm hoping.
And if you get stuck you can always "cheat" with this site.
