After my wife the country cook passed, I can't keep cornmeal fresh for the very little I use but I do have excess popcorn 'cause the son and I don't use much.

I'll try your idea to make a small amount for coating some green tomato slices for frying.......

One of my cousins had a large field of popcorn that surrounded our house and after the cornpickers were finished, we could go in the field and pick up the ears which did not make it into the machine.

We had plenty of popcorn for the next year!
