I was raised Church of Christ but my folks were becoming increasingly liberal and tolerant. Shows like this helped ground me in the idea that all people are valuable and deserving of respect. In many ways that message dovetailed with our core Christian values. It's so heart breaking that the mainstream of Christianity has moved away from a belief in love and respect for all of God's creatures
