Monday

The Lawn mower roars, I pray for quiet
My email box full, I don’t wanna read them

But it’s Monday

No one writes about this
Forgotten day.
We forget., it’s Monday.

Monday comes , as Friday comes,
In cadence , one to seven
The song remains,

Hello Monday,
We hate you just the same.
No rain, no snow,
Oh it’s Monday.

But I’m alive,
My country did,
My daughter did, I did!!!!
Oh Hello Monday!

When all the Monday's go by,
the mowers mow, in the Villages
to and fro,

some smells you remember as a kid
raking, pulling weeds, trying to get
betsy, the crapy old mower who wished it could,
yet its little engine that tried to move a blade
shaft was all gunked up to the max

what the freak, you work from home,
on a computer these days

and your old and know a bit about history
the truth that was profoundly sad and wrong,
and yet true

And there's no telling how much good it would be
to understand the truth about history

even as bad as it truly was/

It's time we should all truly celebrate
Juneteenth

last Monday June 19th and think about
how far "we all" have come.

Yet with still a ways to go.

But also - what about those guys cutting the lawn,
some of them are in their thirties and forties...

heck yeah, there's a long way still to go!!!
