when I remember the story of you and me now
there is a taste in my mouth
like I just bit my tongue
the iron taste of blood.

I ignore it, to see it was all your fault.

And as I go over the story in my mind
committing the rewrite to words
a red banner appears above,
I just have to ignore.

Because I see now truly, it was all your fault.

Back then, when we parted,
I didn't see it this way - I was ashamed.
I hung my head, because I slept with-
NO! you we're cruel to me.
I admitted my guilt after I-
NO! You kept me in a cage.

I've let that past die
and I pay the price in red,
for my memories of us,
