I am a mystery
You think you know me
As I curl up beside you
In the late evening
Awaiting your steps
To my bowl of reward
The reason you live
To feed my needs
I patrol from on high
On top of the cabinets
Observing the changes
In the room that I own
Scouting for intruders
Waiting for an opening
To leap to the floor
In aggressive surprise
And yet I want to be with you
As I curl up against you for warmth
On my terms, mine only
Knowing that you love me
Sure that you accept me
No matter what I do
Whatever I destroy
Is immediately forgiven
Look into my deep black eyes
Absorbing your soul
Riveted attention
I will not look away
I own you
You are mine
You are Human
I am Cat
