Castles

Castles high on the hills
Constructed of glass and steel
Luxurious homes for the lords
Isolated from peasants below

Servants, valets, and chefs
Work forever for petty kings
Near money piled high to the rafters
Loose change only trickled down

Fortresses built to impress
Teasing the princes with glory
Located on beaches and mountains
Places appealing, exclusive

----

Time for the pitchforks
The rebellion begins
As the serfs tear down the gates
And force the wealthy outside
Castles become a lost memory
Along with their royal owners
Possessions return to the Public
Money circulates once again

No one should have castles
We should never have kings
Force them to live in the fields
Make them reap the harvest
Alone under the hot summer sun
Sweat pouring down their brows
Without water, without food,
Without rest, without sleep.

Just like the rest of us…
