free Andre Norton books

I am winnowing my paperbacks to give to the library book sale and I trotted off to the computer to see how readily available Andre Norton's books were in kindle format.

I never thought I'd give up paper books, but the larger font size settable in kindle books got to me. As I move more and more to kindle, my house, formerly full of books, is starting to look like I'm a Republican or something

Come to find out Amazon has numerous Andre Norton books for free. I just grabbed all fifteen free ones. Others are like 99 cents but I left those for later. There were other older science fiction authors in there with free kindle books also.

I was browsing through sections of DU I don't normally visit.

Saw your question and had to respond. Andre Norton was one of the authors that I loved as a student back in the 70s who's work stands up to an adult's perspective..

Almost any would work, but I like "Saragossa of space" or the "witch world "series

I moved to kindle 4 years ago for the same reason as you. Even with reading glasses and bifocals I can't read real book fonts anymore. The changeable font on the kindle is wonderful.

I read this as a preteen when in it came out in paperback in 1961. I bought it through Scholastic Books. It may have been the first science fiction novel I had ever read. It wasn't the last.

I read that book over again many times and still remember it today. I became a big science fiction fan because of that book. And I never forgot the name Andre Norton.

Thanks for the Kindle information.
