There's also a new Battlestar Galactica from Sam Esmail to debut on NBCUniversal's new streaming service.

I simply have no interest in any of the comic book franchises or fantasy stuff.

There are a lot of novels from the "Golden Age" of s-f that would make wonderful movies. Unfortunately, the people now in charge of making the movies and TV shows are too young to have read any of them.

One example. Isaac Asimov's The End of Eternity would, in my opinion, make a wonderful either stand-alone movie or a limited series.

I can think of many. The funny thing is that the technology for doing a great speculative fiction movie is such that some of the old ones could be made in a way that they couldn't have been made years ago.

End of Eternity is a good example, because current CGI would allow for the scenery, so to speak, that Asimov envisioned and worked in a book but could not have been done effectively until relatively recently.
