Science Fiction
Related: About this forumTime once again for "Name that book!"
It's fairly recent, and I'm trying to recall the name because it was the first of a trilogy ( I think). I only saw it in paperback
The plot was based on time travel paradoxes and also involved an alien machine/worm hole that transferred objects to a specific site every 30 days or so. A secret government agency secures each object as it appears and tries to figure out what the hell it does. There is also a mysterious plane crash involving the First Lady, a possible end to civilization as we know it, people running back and forth sending warnings across time to each other.
I've got to start writing these things down!

As soon as you are done reading this post, get up from the computer, go off to a store that will sell any kind of office or school supplies and purchase a notebook. Use it to write down every book and author as soon as you read it.
I've been doing it for years and it's very helpful.

(90,061 posts)I used to read vast quantities of that stuff, but it's been a long time. Now there are a few writers I track (Atwood, Banks), but not many since the 90s.

I found this one by scrolling through the library's on-line listing of books under "time travel - fiction".
