Trying to remember a poem...

Back in the early 80's, my then-teenage sister took a collection of poems out of the library; Casey at the Bat, Jabberwocky, that kind of stuff. There was a poem about bears in this collection (NOT The Teddy Bear's Picnic). About a convergence of bears in a forest, which went on to describe a number of the bears, all of whom gave homage to "The Bear who is to come", which is the only blurb I can clearly recall. We often would laugh at the prospect of a "Messiah Bear"

On and off over the years/decades, it's needled me that I cannot remember the name of the poem nor the poet; I've googled the above phrase in every way I can think of, to no avail. I've asked everyone I can think of, and so I post it here as well. If anyone recognizes this poem, please post it here. Many thanks.
