Not sure how to tease out the answer to this for writers

I am very close to embarking on a major writing project. My keyboard is failing so another PC is in the works. But I see a lot of laptops on eBay for example, where the keys are popped, missing. So how does one find the best durable keyboards? I searched Google, and a brand pops up, I'm sure it's a good choice, but is that real evidence of durability, or is it SEO, or paid opinion? How would I know. I'd like a keyboard that's backlit, and where the lettering goes through the key so it won't wear off.

Not entirely sure if this belongs in this forum, but it does say "techniques and tools".

Thanks for entertaining the idea.

They had a stack of used keyboards for $3 or $4.

Also, try Goodwill.

I self publish using Amazon's KDP platform and Draft2Digital for other booksellers, like Barnes & Noble. Draft2Digital is author focused and allows writers to use their tools free. They are awesome!

I'm sure you are familiar with the saying, "my cold dead hands", that's how I feel about this keyboard.
