Tennessee fined $250,000

for fans throwing stuff during the game between the UT Bottle Throwers and the Ole Miss Fighting Lane Kiffins. Have to give Lane some credit for a great catch on one bottle thrown at him as he exited the stadium.

Fining the university punishes everyone associated with the university, but otherwise does nothing to punish the students who actually threw things on the field. If possible, they need to be identified and subject to harsh penalties.

"Preliminary records show 18 people were arrested and 47 people were ejected at Tennessee’s 31-26 loss against Ole Miss, a UTPD spokesperson said. University Chancellor Donde Plowman said Sunday that campus police are working to identify those responsible and students would lose the ability to attend future games if found to have thrown debris."
