Ah, it's the US Open people.......isn't anyone watching??? Lotsa good stories.....

John Isner lost to an up and coming American….. Michael Mmoh.

Mmoh defeated John Isner in a heart-stopping five-setter Thursday in the Grandstand, winning the final four points of the match tiebreak to outduel the 38-year-old, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6, in the final match of Isner’s career at the 2023 US Open.

Coco Gauff is winning, Pegula, Keys, are too. Love the U S Open. It’s on ESPN, the two ESPN channels are carrying matches tonight.

Ya should be watching. Last big tournament of the season.

Tennis isn't really. But you call soccer boring? You just don't understand the game! Now football is getting to the point of stupidity--just a bunch of overfed and over padded guys shoving each other around, and people who only come to the games to see people get hurt!

You want REAL action? Watch rugby! Sevens or fifteens, doesn't matter, although sevens moves faster. Big guys who can MOVE IT. Or women who can do the same. Great game! Also a fair amount of crashing and banging.

Sorry, a kennedy. I tried to stop myself from posting that, but my snark just came through. Forgive me...

FWIW, I find tennis and soccer both interesting to watch and probably would golf as well--if I had even dabbled playing it myself, as I do tennis. One only realizes the skill involved when they try it themselves. So, enjoy!

and the camera pans to the sky, to allegedly follow the track of the ball, is it the same clip that they have been using for decades or do they repeat the shot for every game? It is very important for me to know for sure.

On the men's side, Rinky Hijikata is still playing -- having his most success ever.

Current UNC and National Champions Crawley and Tauguilig just lost in women's doubles. Crawley lost yesterday in singles. They will be back on campus for this season. Several other alum's floating about.

I go every year and have had series tickets since 1991 (when LA was the stadium court.) First just Labor Day weekend, then in Ashe, but our comparable seats were awful. Switched to Louie when they started selling series tkts there.

Just finished watching Sunshine on the big screen while having lunch. Very happy she won!

It’s been super crowded and hard to get a seat on any if the outer courts at all, unless you show up first thing in the morning. Also, it’s been taking forever just to get something to eat or drink.

I love tennis even more now. With golf and tennis, it's the minutia that counts more than shear power. A smaller male player with less power but better skills can still win, a lot. Today's tennis players, many of whom run 6'5" or better can be whipped by a 6' or less man of superior skill. Further there is strategy and plenty of it. If one player does X the other will do Y to try cope with X. It is fast and one needs to get a feel for watching a fast paced game.

I watch for the little stuff a kennedy.

Wozniaki coming back after 3 1/2 years off and having 2 children.. Story-lines are always plentiful. Dramatic stuff.

I hope like everyone else we get a rematch of Djokvic and Alkaraz. Whoop whoop.

IMO

He clearly has the guns for it. Just needs to play within himself but he just beat a very good player in Paul in 4 sets so what the hell do I know. Maybe this win will be his launching pad.

With a couple of beers. There was nothing else on other than news, and even that was uninteresting. So now I am watching something on Acorn with my wife. There is some football on that I may watch later when she goes to bed.
