Warriors great Klay Thompson leaving for Dallas Mavericks as a free agent

Golden State Warriors icon turned unrestricted free agent Klay Thompson intends to join the Dallas Mavericks, a league source confirmed to the Chronicle.

A five-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion, Thompson is getting a three-year, $50 million contract in what’s expected to be a sign-and trade, according to ESPN.

The trade the Mavericks will make to create room for Thompson has not been finalized, per multiple reports.

Thompson’s departure ends a 13-tenure with Golden State. With the Warriors, he joined Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr to create the foundation of the franchise’s dynastic run. Taken 11th overall in the 2011 NBA draft, Thompson quickly developed into one of the best two-way players in the NBA.

I thought he sold his controlling interest.
In fact, I thought he sold his 70% to that RWNJ Adelson.
