WOW! But $80,000+ for a Dodge? Yeah, I don't think so. Not for a Chrysler product....

(4,122 posts)Actually, the 2013 models, five years ago, did the same wheelies right out of the showrooms!

(4,122 posts)Read up on it and don't get hung up on fictional fake news stuff from essentially fluff non-auto sites. Auto Nation is hardly a Bible btw!
Try Motor Trend, Road and Track, Hot Rod for real facts! No fake news there!

(11,994 posts)Calm down brother. Im not trying to pick a fight here, baby. Just posting what I read. Certified by Guinness as the first. Reason being, as far as I can tell so far is that the Ford is non VIN numbered. Meaning it's a race car. Specifically a drag race car. Again, as far as I can tell, not sold to be street legal while the Demon is.
From the Ford.com website:
Engineered by Ford Performance Parts, the purpose-built drag racer developed on the 2018 Ford Mustang platform is limited to 68 non-VIN production cars.
Final 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet ordering and product specifications will be released this summer. The car is designed to be legal for National Hot Rod Association drag racing, along with several National Mustang Racers Association and National Muscle Car Association classes.

(3,268 posts)Friend bought a '66 Mercury Cyclone GT W/390 C.I. S-code engine. The car had belonged to the son of a Ford dealerships owner and had several production codes no one (even the Ford mechanics) could quite identify...And yes it could...

(11,994 posts)They mean anyone with the cash can order one. Not factory speed shopped. Not non VIN numbered. Factory, street legal, anyone can order.

(3,268 posts)It had a standard VIN and paperwork but was specially spec'ed by guys tied to the racing division.

(11,994 posts)There ya go. Seems like the Demon is right off the assembly line badass. And I ain't hyping. See my original post. Not exactly a fan of Chrysler products. But it seems to be the first "production" car capable of pulling a wheelie. 2.92" according to the certification by Guinness Book Of World Records. If that's wrong, I'm sure the other car companies will sue to have it changed.....

(5,122 posts)It was the advent of computer controls, electronic ignition, and other technologies to make cars cleaner that eventually led to today's 450+ HP Mustangs and Camaros, as well as the Demon.
Maybe this is what tRump has in mind

As if. I'm just not racist enough apparently. Three of my top five "if I could meet" folks are black.....
