(19,315 posts)I'm a fan of the '67, the last year for the Stingray. Highest value for a 'Vette comes down to that '57 and a '67 with a big block 427 and tri-power. It seems at auction the '67 has an edge with it's 435 horses, generally starting at $100k and going up from there.

(8,203 posts)hard top, soft top, red corvette...what was funny, my Dad had to put a block of wood on the clutch pedal, so I could reach it...imagine, $1300.00 - I got married, so had to sell after kiddos came along..I sold it to my brother for $3000 - he used it for years, as collateral when he bought his car carriers....he still has it, but the place where he stored it in the winter, was broken into and the hard top stolen....
One of the most memorable trips was North on RT 1 to Ipswich Mass....going through Topsfield Mass. was like being on a roller coaster, ups and downs....best seafood at MacIntyres, and Cranes Beach of course..but that wood block allowed me to sit upright in the seat...
Thanks for the trip down memory Lane...

(7,629 posts)66 coupe, 69 coupe, 77 coupe. 66 was my favorite 425 horse ruled the streets in my area never beaten in a street race. On the strip never beaten in class. Sold it to buy my first house. House didn't appreciate as much as it would have. 69 came next big block but a little more civilized 390 horse. Sold it to buy my second house.

(34,649 posts)I put this on for my husband, who has always been a big Corvette fan but never owned one (they are a bit beyond a school teachers salary, lol).
He immediately dropped what he was doing and sat down and watched the whole thing.
He and my sons are all car fanatics. That is almost always the topic of conversation at our dinner table.
