Porsche Macan S with Sport Chrono package, Porsche logo embossed headrests, and red seat belts! Ohboyohboyohboyohboy!
Had been looking for the right one for about a month and decided on this! 10 minutes from the dealership, my aunt called and told us mom had stopped taking water. 3-5 day death sentence. Not much joy in buying it. My poor wife. LOL!
But it is awesome and its her first car in 30 years that I cant wait to drive! 🤟
And I now have a fully European garage now! Porsche, Mini, and me Lotus!
Bernice and her British sister, The Blue Meanie, the day I brought her home.
And after much work making her mine
.
The Porsche is a much more welcome edition than a Bronco for me!

(28,833 posts)Been a Porsche fan since I was a kid. The Macan is a great vehicle. Thought about getting one a few years ago but ended up with an MB GLC300 that my partner loves to death. I wish the electric Macan wasn't going to be so damn expensive.

(11,994 posts)Shes been wanting an S class Benz forever. But we live in the lake effect snow area in Indiana and dont have a big enough garage for three cars. She had a 7 year old Kia SOUL! Turbo. She was talking about getting a Bronco or Santa Cruz and I was facepalming.
Its her car, she can have whatever she wants. Seriously. Even a Prius. But Ive got a Mini Cooper S and a Lotus Elise. Im a driver, ya know?
Two of my Lotus buddies have Cayennes and they rant and rave about them. I gently (or not. LOL!) suggested it and she was in. 🤟

(28,833 posts)It's been that good. Have wanted a Boxster or a Cayman forever, but I could definitely do a Macan now. Most of the fun, way more practical.
When we were shopping for the MB and still hadn't decided on it, one dealer had a used Macan Turbo. It was about $10k more than we were looking to spend, plus it was used vs. the new MB. We didn't drive it because I knew I'd somehow justify the extra $10k if we did.

Bronco love was a thing here (near Austin, TX) when it first came out, but seemed to fade pretty quickly. I think expectations met reality, for the most part. That was also the peak of the pandemic when all car stuff was nuts.

(11,994 posts)I mean, its used but I ended up spending the extra for the extra hundred hp. The base that we test drove handled like a sports car. I was pushing it through s curves and was amazed. But the power wasnt there. Didnt feel like Porsche. But the S? Feels like a Porsche. And with the sport chrono package, you get sport+ and feels like a cayman. It rocks!

(28,833 posts)The S is definitely worth the bump in price. And used is great because someone else takes the depreciation hit, though Porsches tend to hold their value very well, except for the electrics, and the latter is an industry-wide issue.
I occasionally rent cars through Turo to feed my sports car side without incurring the payments, insurance, etc. We rented a base Boxster a few years ago. It was a great car - the best handling car I'd ever driven - and its only real flaw was that it needed more power.
A couple years later, we rented a Cayman GTS. 365hp in that tiny little car.
Just blew my mind. I want, I want, I want. lol

(28,833 posts)I like the newer Lotuses as well, though there's nothing quite like the spirit of the Elise.

(11,994 posts)The way it handles and communicates? A true drivers car. It was insane on The Tail of The Dragon!

(3,416 posts)On the market other than the Ferrari Purosangue $393,000, the Lamborghini Urus $275,000+ and the Maserati Levante Trofeo $188,000. And the Macan S does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds running the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds @ 108 miles per hour top speed169
Enjoy! It really is an amazing automobile
..And I love the red seat belts and red lettering on the doors that spells out Macan S. The black gives it a rather sinister look. I love the vehicle!
Its faster than my Elise! LOL!
And thanks so much! Its gorgeous in person!
Im really happy for you guys!
