ESPN Sunday Night Baseball sucks. (Original Post) GP6971 Sep 2023 OP
I'd think the managers wouldn't want that BOSSHOG Sep 2023 #1

I don't like when they mic up the players in the field, either. Diamond_Dog Sep 2023 #8
I beg to differ - I thought it was cool and a great opportunity for he and his son. walkingman Sep 2023 #9

Sometimes those on field interviews are pretty interesting; Golden Glovers don't always need a glove Brother Buzz Sep 2023 #13

It’s a distraction for a defensive player. The leagues have probably forced it on the teams. I’ve watched baseball for at least 60 years and those interviews do nothing positive for the game.

I don't recall seeing it when I watch games on the MLB channels.

Wouldn’t you think that would be extremely distracting for them.

Oh well, have to pander to the casual fan …

Especially when it's a defensive player, I'm always afraid he's going to get bonked in the head.

I like focusing on the game, do not understand all the yapping that goes on now. Baseball is a great game, I don't need a side show. I am sorry for those who do.

...of talking to players while the game is ongoing. There is a much greater range of questions vs any end-of-game interview, which is over quickly.

As long as it doesn't interfere with the actual game.
