Oh, no!
Apparently it's a subluxation of the left shoulder.
I've had a subluxation and it's awful.
Sad for Ohtani and the Dodgers.

(19,899 posts)Were going to get some tests at some point tonight, tomorrow, and then well know more in the next couple days, Roberts said. But the strength was great. The range of motion, good. So were encouraged. But obviously I cant speculate because we dont have the scans yet. Once we get the scans, well know more.

Losing Ohtani would be a major blow!

(24,945 posts)Injuries are the wildcard in every sport.
When my favorite NFL team started having a longer and longer injury report I just knew we'd be screwed for the season. Boy, was I wrong.
But a simple subluxation of the shoulder can affect so much for a baseball player. All at once everything changes. He can't bat, catch or hit with one arm.
There are only two options for a subluxation of the shoulder; surgery followed by weeks of rehab and immobilization and rest.
I chose the second. Now, think of all the things that require two hands in life. Then, imagine how you're going to have to do them with one.
The slightest wrong move and you're back to square one.
Not so tough if you're a MLB player, any NFL player or a pro in any form with an army of aides and doctors. A team of people who can cook for you, bathe and don/doff your clothes and everything else will be needed for just your every day existence. Plus, there is no set timeline for recovery. Everyone heals differently.
I truly hope for the best for Ohtani and the Dodgers. Even though I'm a Yankees fan, I know the difficult road that may be ahead for Ohtani and it wasn't any fun for me.
Hopefully, the MRI results will be promising. 🤞
Thanks for being a pal.
