An MiLB team is letting fans decide if it will wear Democrat or Republican hats on Opening Day

One of the best things about Minor League Baseball is the regional specificity -- the degree to which teams reflect the local culture and sensiblity. It's given us a real, actual team named the RubberDucks, and taught us all that "Yard Goats" does not in fact refer to fearsome farm animals. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats wanted to continue that grand tradition of weirdness, and it's doing it in the most fittingly New Hampshire way possible: holding a primary.

Back on Nov. 10, the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats announced that they'd be leaving it to the fans to decide which hat the team would wear on Opening Day. Their choices? A blue hat with a Democrat donkey, or a red hat with a Republican elephant:
