Tim Tebow homers to left-center in first at-bat of minor league debutCOLUMBIA, S.C. -- Tim Tebow hit a two-run homer in the first at-bat of his minor league baseball debut for the Class A Columbia Fireflies on Thursday night.
Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, drilled a 2-1 pitch off the railing just above the fence in left-center field, where a strong wind had been blowing out all day. Tebow stopped at second base, thinking it was a double, as an umpire twirled his hand to indicate the home run.
Fans shouted "Te-Bow! Te-Bow!'' after the former University of Florida and NFL quarterback fouled off a pitch.
The chants grew louder as Tebow circled the bases on his homer, pumping his fist as he rounded second.

SF Giants Minor Lines 4/25/17: Domenic Mazza throws perfect game
The Sally League has been around a long time, but no player in it has ever accomplished Mazzas feat.

On Opening Night, Dom Mazza had a brush with sports notoriety, surrendering a 2-run HR to Tim Tebow that got him on Sportscenter highlight reels and a guest appearance on the Dan Patrick radio show. Thats not really how a minor leaguer wants to make his 15 minutes, really I thought to myself.
But last night, Mazza, the 22 year old LHP from Walnut Creek and the University of Santa Barbara, lived out a Pitchers dream. Mazza grabbed himself a bit of baseball immortality that hell treasure forever: the night he was absolutely perfect and did something that nobody has ever done in the long history of the Sally League (South Atlantic League).
