I heard that third base umpire had an unfilled prescription for glasses in his pocket

Bing Russell's independent (Class A) baseball team, the Portland Mavericks, had a mascot, a black Labrador (Bat Dog) that would be turned loose on the field whenever a relief pitcher needed time, or a distraction of some sort was called for. The manic pooch would race around the field, eluding umpires and cops, often ending up at home plate to deposit a, uh, present.

"The place went nuts. That dog understood about stagecraft, and didn't give a hoot about being ejected"

They hit only homers tonight. They can't get runs with men on base.

Looking forward to an East Coast vs West Coast series. It use to be the cross town rivals but this time it will be the cross country rivals.

Well that's what I am hoping for.

It has been very interesting seeing the faces of the Cubs fans these last two days. One guy had on a shirt that said "there's always last year."

Yea baby

Go Dodgers!
