MLB approves sale of Marlins to a group fronted by Jeter even though they can't afford it. Jeter gives away top talent because he can not afford payroll then complains about attendance. They also ditched long time broadcasters and team reps from the team's few glory days.
We haven't made it to the Winter Meetings and they've released Ichiro and traded Dee Gordon and Giancarlo Stanton for nothing. Yelich, Ozuna, and Prado are still being shopped around.
I'm out. I've just freed up 150+ evenings and hundreds of dollars.
And yes, I know how baseball works, but this is a failed mode that will see the team moved in a few seasons at this rate. We've just been "Major Leagued"!

(323 posts)I saw my Cubs build up and get blown up for four solid decades before they finally built the right team at the right time. Yes, this stinks. Yes, this smells fishy. But, try to have some faith that the right direction will present. I have also had this same chat with my wife, a rabid Tigers fan. It will happen and when it does, it will feel so much sweeter.

(9,686 posts)I love going to Marlins games when we visit our son in S FL. Gorgeous stadium, easy parking, great food and now probably lousy games
