are having a helluva playoff season. And, if they can finish this off quick, they will have a great rest before facing the American League pennant winner.

Their sticks could chill a bit; hitting good at the MLB level requires facing good pitching daily to keep the eyes sharp and dialed in. Batting practice doesn't do it.

That being said, the Nationals peaked at just the right time and you can bet dimes to donuts Martinez is massaging the message to keep his boys focused.

Washington could only manage 93 wins during regular season. LA (OTH) won 106.

It's like a world class runner who wins all year but has a bad trial so doesn't make the olympic team.

Not sure this is the best way to select the best athlete or team.
