NEW YORK People familiar with the discussion tell The Associated Press that putting all 30 teams in the Phoenix area this season and playing in empty ballparks was among the ideas discussed by Major League Baseball and the players association.
The sides held a telephone call to talk about paths forward for a season delayed by the new coronavirus pandemic. Ideas are still in the early stage.
Arizonas advantage is 10 spring training ballparks plus the Arizona Diamondbacks Chase Field all within about 50 miles.

(38,197 posts)I wish they would open up at least a few MLB streams for some of us who can't afford to pay. Other celebrities are offering up freebies right now to keep people from losing it. If MLB did that, I would think it was Christmas morning. It would be awesome to get to see baseball games again. It is our national pastime. Someone needs to point out to them that it would be really patriotic to do that. Maybe it will make them decide to do it. Imagine baseball watching parties on DU. It would be fun.
